What to expect – Facilities & Services

  • Check-in: from 1:00 PM (24h automated)

  • Water & waste disposal: Included for overnight guests (gray water, chemical toilet, fresh water).

  • Electricity: Fair billing based on consumption (€0.89/kWh).

  • Sanitary concept: We are a site for self-sufficient campers. No public toilets/showers. Private bathroom can be booked subject to availability.

  • Dogs: Very welcome (on leash).

  • Food: Whether fresh rolls, supermarket, or spontaneous grilling: Everything is nearby. A 24/7 meat vending machine and gas sales are just 500 meters away. If you don’t feel like cooking, you’ll find top restaurants at the castle.

Good to know – Everything for your stay

Arrive completely relaxed with us: Thanks to our straightforward self-check-in, arrival is possible around the clock. Without time pressure, you simply arrive, take your booked pitch, and start relaxing right away.

We’re prepared for small campers and real “big rigs.” We distinguish between two categories:

  1. Standard pitches (approx. 70 m²): Perfect for motorhomes up to 9 meters.
  2. XXL liner pitches (approx. 140 m²): Our specialty for liners, motorhomes with trailers, or combinations up to 18 meters.
    In total, we offer 45 pitches with electricity and water connections.

Generally: Yes, but with restrictions. Since our pitches are designed for motorhomes, the tow vehicle usually needs to be unhitched and parked outside (in public parking spaces near the entrance).

Exception: If the caravan and tow vehicle together (one behind the other) fit into a 9-meter pitch (or on a booked XXL pitch), both may remain on the pitch. Please contact us beforehand if in doubt.

Our site concept is perfectly tailored to self-sufficient motorhomes. Since we don’t operate public sanitary facilities (toilet/shower), you as a self-sufficient camper don’t pay unnecessary flat-rate fees.

Would you like a bit more comfort? Simply book your own private bathroom exclusively for your stay (from 2 nights, subject to availability).

Important note: Our shared bathroom is exclusively available to guests of rental accommodations such as the shepherd’s hut, safari tent, or tent meadow.

We believe in fair, consumption-based pricing:

  • Electricity: €0.89 per kWh (you only pay what you use).
  • Fresh water & disposal: For our overnight guests, filling up with water and disposal (gray water/chemical toilet) are included in the price.
  • For travelers passing through: Water and waste disposal only, without overnight stay, costs a flat rate of €5.

Yes, there is a charging station for electric cars right at the pitch.
E-bikes can also be charged or rented from providers in the immediate vicinity (e.g., at the castle, approx. 500 m).

Absolutely! Four-legged friends are very welcome with us. Please keep your dog on a leash on the site and be considerate of other guests. The adjacent Kaisergarten is perfect for extensive walks.

A cozy BBQ is part of camping. Gas and electric grills are permitted.

Important: Open fires (campfires, fire bowls) and charcoal grills are not permitted for fire safety reasons and to avoid smoke nuisance.

You’re right in the green and still centrally located:

  • Groceries: You’ll find supermarkets in the immediate vicinity.
  • Food: About 500 m away (at the hardware store), there’s a meat vending machine for spontaneous grilling as well as gas sales.
  • Emergency: Camping supplies and basic groceries are available from us upon request.

Should something come up, the following rules apply:

  • Up to 7 days before arrival: Refund of the amount as a voucher (minus €10 processing fee).
  • Within 7 days: Partial refund as a voucher possible (depending on timing), the €10 fee remains.

Ideal for quick needs on foot.

🥩 24/7 BBQ meat & sausages: At TIMM Fleischmanufaktur (Max-Planck-Ring 39), there’s a vending machine with fresh grilling meat, sausages, and sauces. Open around the clock – perfect for spontaneous BBQ evenings.

🛠️ Gas & camping basics: At Sonderpreis Baumarkt (Max-Eyth-Str. 3-7), you can exchange gas bottles and buy technical supplies.

🍟 Quick snack: Right at the hardware store complex, you’ll find Grillbox for the classic currywurst on the go, as well as a Bäckerei Döbbe branch.

2. Supermarkets & rolls

For your weekly shopping.

🛒 Discount store (approx. 1.2 km): A Penny Markt (Mecklenburger Str. 4) is easily accessible (approx. 15 min. on foot or 3 min. by bike).

🛍️ Big shopping (approx. 2.5 km): In Oberhausen-Sterkrade, you’ll find a Kaufland and other stores for everything a camper’s heart desires.

🥐 Breakfast tip: Use Bäckerei Döbbe at the hardware store (approx. 600m) or take a short bike ride to Sterkrade for a wider selection (e.g., Bäckerei Agethen).

3. Restaurants & dining out

When the camping kitchen stays cold.

🏰 Castle dining (500m): Right in Kaisergarten. Enjoy coffee & cake or an upscale dinner in a wonderful atmosphere right at the castle.

🎡 Centro Promenade (approx. 2.5 km): By bike, you’re at the Centro in just under 10 minutes. There, a huge selection of restaurants awaits you: From Italian to burgers to Asian cuisine and bars right by the water.
